Q: What do you believe are your key strengths?

A: My organizational skills, communication skills, and accountability.

Q: How do you keep track of the things you need to do?

A: I use a variety of methods, depending on the type of task. For things that involve the whole team, we use a shared checklist, so we know what’s done and what needs reviewing. For my own tasks I keep a notebook to keep track of projects I’m working on or use Outlook to create tasks and events. I also use my inbox as my to-do list, so I will not move an email out of my inbox (and into an organized folder) until I have completed the task.

Q: What makes you happy in a job?

A: I enjoy facing new challenges and opportunities and collaborating with others with similar work ethics.

Q: Why do you feel you have work/life balance?

A: Do you have any tips/tricks for others to improve their work/life balance? I have a team I can rely on for support when I take time off. I keep a consistent schedule that allows for breaks throughout the week – whether it’s taking my dog for a walk, going to the gym, or running a quick errand. Having flexibility during the workday is key to enjoying life outside of work.

Q: Think about a good manager you’ve had. What did they do that made them a good manager?

A: A good manager will be a great communicator, demonstrate patience, and provide feedback to allow for learning and growth opportunities.

Q: What do you like about the work environment or culture here?

A: I enjoy the remote-first work environment and that everyone is always willing to jump in to accomplish things together.

Q: Who are some of your biggest inspirations at GTreasury?

A: Everyone on the Finance team – we are a small team but work together well to accomplish everything needed to keep the accounting operations running smoothly. Hilary Norris is an excellent leader who trusts everyone on the team to get the work done and provides expertise when we need it.

Q: How have you grown professionally at GTreasury?

A: I’ve been able to take my experience working in growing tech companies and apply it in a leadership role at GTreasury. Having grown professionally in similar roles that I now manage has enabled me to lead with first-hand knowledge of my direct reports’ responsibilities, provide growth opportunities, and work alongside my team to accomplish great things.

Q: What’s the best advice you can give to someone who just started their career?

A: Ask questions so you understand your work and how your work impacts the organization. Be humble, but also know when to highlight your accomplishments.

Q: What’s something you are passionate about outside of the workplace?

A: I enjoy cooking, especially when it involves something I grew in my garden. I’ve kept busy doing a lot of renovations on my 1926 home. I recently developed the “travel bug,” and my first European trip is this month – I’m in Portugal as you read this!
