May Employee Spotlight: Mitali Menavlikar
We’re taking a moment to recognize and showcase exceptional employees for their outstanding work and dedication to GTreasury with our new Employee Spotlight program.
This month, we took a moment and talked with Mitali Menavlikar, Team Lead, Solutions Consultant at GTreasury, to learn more about her professional journey and what makes her successful.
Q: What are your key strengths?
A: Project management, administration, team management, internal and external stakeholder management, attention to detail, focus on project deliverables and budgeting.
Q: How do you keep track of the things you need to do?
A: I work on 5-10 projects at a time, so it’s important to prioritize key deliverables on a day-to-day basis by breaking them down into short and long-term goals. Our team has a daily stand-up where we run through current tasks and expected timelines and prioritize those short-term goals first.
Q: What makes you happy in a job?
A: Treasury is my happy place, and I love working with different clients and seeing their operations. I get to learn new things every day and I am blessed to work with a great team who is very supportive and enthusiastic. It acts as a motivation to keep going every day.
Q: Why do you feel you have work/life balance? What are your tips and tricks for others to achieve work-life balance?
A: Being part of a client-facing team can be overwhelming at times. Because of this, I only schedule client calls M-Th and keep Friday free for other work. I don’t work on the weekends. I encourage my team to do the same.
Q: Think about a good manager you’ve had. What did they do to make them a good manager?
A: A good manager identifies strengths in their team members and uses those strengths to help the individual grow as well as benefit the organization.
Q: What do you like about the work environment or culture here?
A: GTreasury has a very open and inclusive work culture with senior leaders who encourage you to reach out directly. There is a lot of collaboration that happens between AMs, Sales, Support, and the Solutions Team on a day-to-day basis and also with cross regional teams.
Q: Who are some of your biggest inspirations at GTreasury?
A: Robin Heller, who collaborates with everyone on her team no matter their function. She is incredibly busy but takes the time to make sure to keep in touch personally. My manager, Ross Atkinson, is also a big inspiration. He works long hours but never pushes that pressure onto his team.
Q: How have you grown professionally at GTreasury?
A: Over the years, I’ve consistently volunteered to take on some of the hardest implementation clients which has helped me grow and learn so much. I also believe that growing professionally is a shared responsibility amongst colleagues. 3 years ago, we started knowledge sharing groups with our client support teams to cross-train our peers. Sharing knowledge with one another allows you to grow together, not just individually.
Q: What’s the best advice you can give to someone who just started their career?
A: Be passionate, keep patience, and never give up. You’ll get there!
Q: What’s something you are passionate about outside the workplace?
A: Traveling, going on holiday with my family, socializing with friends, and watching movies.
Q: With Mother’s Day approaching in a few days, how do you feel that GTreasury supports you as a mother?
A: GTreasury has given me the best balance I could hope for as a mother. I’ve been able to manage my child’s activities as well as my professional growth. There’s never been a question on whether I could juggle both.
